Funded by West Hackney Parochial Charity and inspired by Hackney Empire’s ‘100 Stories Project’, ‘The Globe, the Heart and the Hourglass’ is Exposure’s first foray into the magical world of fairy tales. The project provided a platform for our young people to explore issues that are important to them on a personal level, as they move towards adulthood. It’s a time to start taking more responsibility for emotional wellbeing and dealing with the feelings and anxieties that are part of growing up.
Young people from Stoke Newington School, Hackney Empire and Mossbourne Academy developed the characters and script, acted in the film and worked behind the scenes on the day of the shoot.
The film was shot on location around the London borough of Hackney with kind support from Abney Park Cemetery, the Castle Climbing Centre (formerly Hackney reservoir) and Hackney Empire.
